Stroke Risks and Prevention and Patient Education

This course discusses the importance of providing care throughout the continuum of care for stroke patients, including identifying a patient’s risk factors, goals, needs and abilities. Education is key for both patients and care partners. The patient may not be able to receive or understand information, so communication with the families is essential. The ultimate goals are to return the stroke patient to the most optimal level of living, and to integrate the patient back into the community.
