Effective communication and cultural humility have a significant impact on health outcomes. This e-learning module takes you through important terminology and concepts that teach basic inclusive language and effective communication, designed to ensure patients feel heard, safe, and affirmed.
Target Audiences include: Clinicians, Educators, Physician Assistants, Nurse Practitioners, Nurses, Mental Health Counselors, Social Workers, and Psychologists

1. You will be able to understand key terms and concepts for a clear understanding of equitable health.
2. You will be able to name the root causes of health care inequities and strategies to improve patient health outcomes.
3. You will be able to identify some introductory preventive approaches for equitable health.
4. You will be able to name some of the tools that can be employed to support your patients despite health inequities.
5. You will be able to apply strategies that will help you recognize a patient as a whole person.
6. You will be able to deploy language you and your staff can use to help make patients feel empowered in the health care setting.
