Description
Digital health tools have been used in a wide variety of health care services, including promoting healthy behaviors; improving health outcomes in people with chronic conditions, such as cardiovascular disease, heart failure, diabetes, and mental health conditions; and providing remote access to treatments. This module will discuss the skill sets and best practices necessary for effective use of digital tools in health care.
Learning Objectives
At the conclusion, participants should be able to:
1. Describe the intersection between science, technology, and behavior change
2. Identify where digital health is used within cardiovascular disease (CVD)
3. Identify obstacles and opportunities for health technologies in CVD
4. Describe best practices in health technologies
5. Identify how to measure effectiveness of digital health technologies
6. Recognize the importance of data accuracy, privacy, and patient safety when using health technologies

The American Heart Association designates this activity for a maximum of 0.50 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.
AAPA Credit Acceptance Statement – Physician Assistants
AAPA accepts certificates of participation for educational activities certified for AMA PRA Category 1 Credit™ from organizations accredited by ACCME or a recognized state medical society. Physician assistants may receive a maximum of 0.50 hours of Category I credit for completing this program.
AANP Credit Acceptance Statement – Nurse Practitioners
American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (AANP) accepts AMA PRA Category 1 CreditTM from organizations accredited by the ACCME.

2. Complete the posttest with a score of 71% or higher
