A growing body of research suggests that LGBTQ populations may be at significantly greater risk for cardiovascular disease compared to their cisgender peers, due in part to the chronic stress caused by systemic discrimination. This course was created to help healthcare and other professionals better assist patients by managing cardiovascular health, starting with recognizing risk factors.
Objectives:
- Determine why identifying and connecting with LGBTQ patients is important to their medical care.
- Assess risk factors that are contributing to health disparities in LGBTQ patients.
- Review the available research and determine needed research on the health disparities that affect the LGBTQ population.

Description
